The Queen’s visit to Northern Ireland, 26 and 27 June 2012

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh visited Northern Ireland on 26 and 27 June as part of the Diamond Jubilee tour of the UK

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, visited Enniskillen and Belfast during a two day visit to Northern Ireland. Details of the programme of engagements are below:

Tuesday 26 June – Enniskillen

Engagements included:

  • A Service of Thanksgiving at St. Macartin’s Cathedral, afterwards meeting families of the victims of the 1987 Enniskillen Bombing in the Deanery. Download the Order of Service
  • Meeting local community groups during a visit to St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church
  • A visit to South West Acute Hospital, where Her Majesty toured the Children’s Ward meeting patients, staff and volunteers, while HRH toured the Gymnasium, the Medical Imaging Unit and the Cardiology/Respiratory Clinic

Wednesday 27 June – Belfast

Engagements include:

  • A visit to the Lyric Theatre meeting representatives of the local community and viewing an exhibition of portraits
  • Tour of the Titanic Belfast, viewing the exhibition and watching a performance from the Belfast Community Choir
  • A visit to the Stormont Estate
